School/program engages in a continuous improvement process for STEM.

To ensure Somerset Gables engages in continuous improvement efforts for STEM, our educators are reminded annually, at the start of the school year, about the school goals, vision, and its relationship with STEM initiatives and are encouraged to seek professional development that will enhance their STEM literacy. The school leadership monitors classroom progress by routinely observing for a minimum of 20 minutes per observation, with review team members conducting multiple observations. and help them improve in their practice to increase engagement and learning experiences. After understanding the evaluation results, the STEM leadership team meets monthly at the faculty meetings to discuss current events and future projects. During the faculty meetings, the rest of the educators are also made aware of ways to improve their STEM implementation, and what the school is doing to further provide students with maximum learning experiences.
An institutional strength is the openness of teachers in receiving feedback to improve their practice. Our leaders are also highly involved in the classrooms and ensure that the staff members feel comfortable enough to share anything with administrators. This feeling of support is translated into the classrooms, and students feel comfortable enough to seek support from other faculty and staff members that do not directly work with them. An area to further improve is bringing both campuses together for grade level most STEM activities and a STEM Showcase. That way, students and educators can work closely to problem-solve through hands-on experiences outside of the classroom. However, due to the physical size of both campuses, most events and activities are done separately for now.
